Senior pastor

Les and his wife, Lori , along with their three daughters, Jill, Amy and Kelly joined o family in the spring of 2012. This Canadian family joined the Reformed Church in America in 1997 while serving at a RCA church in Traverse City. As the Senior Pastor of Knapp Church, he is our primary teacher and preacher. He is passionate about bringing the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ to a world so lost and yet so loved by God. He enjoys traveling with his girls, playing/watching hockey, and just sitting around a campfire.


Ryan strehl

director of worship and arts

Ryan has been leading worship at Knapp Church since 2011. He has a tremendous passion for music and leading the church in worship. Ryan spent four years at Cornerstone University where he received a BA in Humanities. Ryan has worked with several different churches in their music ministry as well, he belonged to several small groups of musicians where he would play at random events, special needs activities, and fund-raisers. Ryan enjoys music of all kinds (except country) and loves working with his current team of musicians because they bring amazing new ideas to the worship experience. One of his favorite times at church is during Youth Sunday where he feels the energy and excitement of seeing young people involved in leading the church in worship. Ryan currently is a bank manager and enjoys spending much of his time with his son, Lucas and wife, Amanda who also attend Knapp Church.


Karen Breuker

Connections Coordinator

Karen has been on staff at Knapp Church since January 2005. She has filled a number of roles during that time. In her new position as our Connections Coordinator, she facilitates the small group program, works with visitors and new members , all the while maintaining community partnerships. She plans and coordinates events that create a community where the families and those who attend Knapp Church discover a place where they are KNOWN.


Deb Waldron

director of Christian education & Kids hope coordinator

Deb has the fun job of making sure the kids are taken care of and learning how much Jesus loves them by coordinating the Sunday school program, Walk out Worship (W.O.W.), and the Nursery. She is also our Kids Hope Director, a mentoring program at Knapp Forest Elementary School. Deb and her husband, Scott, have three grown children and one granddaughter. She enjoys floral design, painting, reading, and singing. Her empty nest is now filled with many children from church and school.


Cindy Hubble

Administrative Assistant

Cindy became our admin in 1998. She is a Hope College grad with a B.A. in psychology. It has been a fulfilling experience to discover and use her gifts for administration while developing and expanding her talents and skills in the office setting. She so enjoys working with the leadership/ ministry teams at Knapp Church. Cindy and her husband, Richard, have three grown children and five grandchildren.




Stuart is new to our staff in 2016 as our custodian.  He is also proficient in computer technology and enjoys helping the other staff and worship department out from time to time.  He volunteered as our worship leader for seven years. Stuart is an avid bicyclist.  Stuart and wife, Sue, have two daughters and two grandchildren.
