We’re involved in our community through the national KIDS HOPE USA (KHUSA) mentoring program! Volunteers from our church partner with our neighbor, Knapp Forest Elementary School, to provide academic and relational help to their students who benefit from having an additional caring adult in their young lives.
Our volunteers meet for one hour once a week at the school one-on-one with an individual student referred to us by the school with permission from the child’s parent(s). A behind-the-scenes prayer partner bathes their relationship in prayer. As we are guests of the school, we adhere to church/state separation guidelines.
For more information on helping a child believe in him/herself, contact the KHUSA mentoring coordinator, Deb Waldron at deb@knappchurch.org
